Compensation Analysis

Salary levels for women accountants have increased substantially since 1977. In 2001, 58% of women accountants reported earnings over $50,000. This is up from 38% in 1996, and less than 1% in 1977.

Education Achievements

The surveyed group of professionals is highly educated. Over 93% of respondents hold a four-year degree. Respondents holding advanced degrees increased from 14.9% in 1977 to 23.5% in 1996, and to 25.6% in 2001.
