Dear Scholarship Applicant,

Attached is information regarding the Women In Transition and Women In Need scholarships sponsored by the Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting. One of the objectives of the Foundation is the advancement of women in the accounting profession, and these scholarships were established to provide financial assistance to female reentry students who are pursuing degrees in accounting.

The Foundation will award one Women In Transition scholarship up to the amount of $16,000 over 4 years and one Women In Need scholarship up to $2,000 per year to deserving students who have satisfied the requirements for these awards. The selection of award recipients is largely based on aptitude, commitment to a career in accounting, and need. Annual renewals of the awards are dependent upon successful completion of course work and may be requested for up to three additional years for Women In Transition and one additional year for Women In Need.

As the Women In Transition scholarship has the potential of covering four years, it is directed toward incoming or current freshman and women returning to school with a freshman status. The Women In Need scholarship is directed toward incoming, current or reentry juniors.

Please read all information carefully to determine the scholarship for which you may be eligible and indicate that scholarship on Page 1 of the application. Attach numbered sheets with the information requested on Page 2.

Applications must be postmarked by April 15, 2002. Recipients for the scholarships will be selected by June 30, 2002.

If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Ms. Cynthia Hires at 610-407-9229.

Sincerely,

Florence E. Royer
Vice President-Programs

Individuals eligible for either of these awards will include women who, either through divorce or death of a spouse, have become the sole source of support for themselves and their family, and wish to pursue a degree in accounting as a means to gainful employment. However, women who are single parents as a result of other circumstances will also be considered.

Please check the scholarship for which you are applying:
